DESTINATION JOURNEYS BOOKING CONDITIONS
All prices quoted are for payment by cash, cheque or direct deposit only, and are subject to availability and cost at the time of booking. A surcharge applies for payments made via credit card. Once your reservation has been confirmed and deposits paid the costs may change due to currency fluctuations in the Australian up until the time of final payment.
Payments for Destination Journeys can be made direct to our bank account or our office at The Travellers Hut.

Should you choose to pay by credit card, a service fee will apply. Visa, Mastercard and American Express – up to 1.9 % for all transactions made via credit card with The Travellers Hut.
Airlines, transport, accommodation, tour and cruise providers may have a different Credit Card fee structure, so we will asses the best method of payment for you to minimise any credit card bank charges.
A reputable and comprehensive Travel Insurance is essential for travel to the regions we offer. The insurance policy cost is calculated on the number of days you will be away, however it is important that the policy be taken out when the booking is made, to cover any cancellation penalties that may apply from the time you make your reservation. We ensure that the cost of cancellation is included in your insurance policy.
WARNING: There are a lot of Travel Insurance companies in the market claiming to offer you coverage, when in fact they only offer you part coverage or coverage that is no sufficient for your travel.
All arrangements are subject to the supplier’s (airlines/transport/accommodation/tour provider) regulations and conditions detailed on tickets, vouchers, travel brochures, at accommodation premises, on transport vehicles, or as advised at the time of booking.
CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENTS
With most bookings we do not charge for amendments while tailor making the bookings to suit your requirements. However once a deposit or payments have been made and you do have to alter or cancel your reservations there will be amendment fees and cancellation charges imposed by Destination Journeys, transport, accommodation, tour operators and cruise providers. Please refer to the booking conditions of your provider for details. Every effort is made by our staff to minimise any fees incurred.
All deposits are fully non-refundable and once final payments have been made cancellation of up to 100 % will apply, and will also be dependent on conditions outlined by the airlines, hotels and operators booking conditions. Travel insurance is compulsory for all bookings made withe Destination Journeys and The Travellers Hut to cover for cancellation fees due to unforeseen circumstances.

Destination Journeys and The Travellers Hut may charge the following fees for changes or cancellation to your booking over and above any fees charged by Airlines, Cruise companies, tour and accommodation providers.

A valid passport is required to travel internationally (some countries insist the validity be for at least six months beyond your last date of travel.) It is the passengers responsibility to ensure they have the correct validity left in their passport prior to travel. We will assist you with the requirements when you book your journey.
VISA AND DOCUMENTATION RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure they have the appropriate documentation including visas. We are happy to assist you in determining visa requirements wherever possible. For most of the countries we offer you are required to apply for an arrival visa, usually before your depart Australia.
Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, India and other destinations require Australian citizens to have a visa to enter their country.
A word of warning: Ensure you use the official sites for any visa or arrival visa applications as there are bogus web sites that either charge you extra fees over and above the standard costs or indeed provide fake visas in which case you would be denied entry. Our staff will be able to assist you with the correct information and official visa application sites.
Vaccinations or medication maybe required for overseas travel. As we are not medically trained the staff at Destination Journey and The Travellers Hut are not permitted by Australian law to advise on any preventative medication that may be need to be administered prior to or during travel .

As we are in the era of dynamic pricing by all airlines, with airfares constantly changing we usually do not include your flight in our journeys. Once we being to put your journey together we will search for the best available airfare options for your travel and book your flights for you.
Most airlines do not require you to reconfirm your flights, however we recommend you check your flight times with the local airline office to ensure that no alterations have been made to the flight schedules. We don’t want you to miss your flight due to a schedule alteration. We will monitor your flights and any change that we are made aware of we will inform you as soon as possible.
APPROXIMATE BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
First Class: Usually 40 kg free baggage allowance per person.
Business Class: Usually 30 kg free baggage allowance per person.
Economy Class: Usually 20 kg free baggage allowance per person – With some airlines up to 23 kg or in some cases 30kg.
Please check with your consultant for dimension and weight information for your flights as details do vary from carrier to carrier.
YOUR LUGGAGE LIMITS WILL BE NOTED ON YOUR FLIGHT TICKETS
CHECK IN TIMES
Domestic flights – Check in at least 60 minutes prior to your scheduled flight departure.
International flights – Check in at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.
Please allow additional check-in time on Public holidays, Friday afternoons, Monday mornings, Saturday and Sunday and also for destinations like USA where security checks can take a long time.
If you are a member of an airline frequent flyer programme, we can add your frequent flyer details into any flight booking we have made for you. Please retain your boarding passes and copies of tickets for frequent flyer point verification against your statement. Without these you may be unable to claim missing points.
